The Montreal International Fireworks Competition is the largest competition of its kind in the world. It remains one of this city's top attractions since its inception back in 1985. This year, the Montreal Fireworks Competition is held from June 12 to August 14, 2010.
Shows begin at 10 pm (see schedule below). Motorists beware that the Jacques-Cartier Bridge will close at 8 p.m. on scheduled show nights, only reopening at the end of each show.
Magnificent!!! See them synchronized to music, up close with the judges at La Ronde, just in front of the Lac des Dauphins. It's an amazing sight, albeit pricey for a 30-minute show. All fireworks tickets, varying from $26.54 to $49.62 (plus taxes and service charge), including full day admission to La Ronde. Parking at La Ronde on the day/eve of fireworks is $20. For a reminder of how spectacular the shows are, check out a video of past pyrotechnic displays.
If you prefer to see them not so up close and personal for free, come down to the Old Port (Champ-de-Mars or Place d'Armes Metro), Parc Jean-Drapeau or the Jacques-Cartier Bridge.
